Deck Workshop Fwd Berth Saloon Galley Head Aft Cabin Specifications

Aft Cabin

The aft cabin provides a large sleeping area and primary access to the boat's electrical and mechanical equipment.
The full berth area in the aft cabin is nearly king size (72" wide by 76" long).  Both of these images are looking aft.  On the left you can see the heater outlet.  In the right hand image you can see the custom bookshelves sized specifically for standard paperbacks...160 inches worth.  Over the drawers you can see a corner of the Icom 802  transmitter.
The aft bed is so large that most couples can sleep comfortably without the space directly under the cockpit.  We store items in large plastic tubs that are retained with bungey cord netting.

Looking forward in the aft cabin you can see the drawers, hanging locker, and door to the main saloon.  In addition to the standard lighting, we have added an additional reading light over the starboard side of the berth which can just be seen in the upper left of this image.

The floor of the aft berth is divided into six sections allowing access to mechanical and electrical systems.  In the left image you are looking aft at the Ample Power Genie gen set.  Additional access to the oil dip stick and fill is provided from the lazarette.  In the right image you are looking forward at the aft end of the main engine.  It is also accessed from the front under the stairs from the galley.

The battery compartment is located under the outboard center panel and holds two 8D house batteries and one Group 27 starting battery.  The batteries are secured in place with stout wooden hold-downs.  Aft of the battery compartment is a medium size storage compartment .
Under the outboard forward panel is the main electrical distribution.  You can see the Heart inverter/charger to the right, the positive bus bars and hi-amp fuses, the multistage regulator for the alternator (left), the pathmaker (center), and the Ample Power Smart Regulator (far right).  On the front panel are battery switches and the solar power controller.
Just inside the aft cabin near the ceiling are the motion detector alarm, the electric winch breaker, and the Lifetag MOB receiver and alarm.
