Head

The head in the Saga 43 is a one piece fiberglass unit which makes for easy cleaning.  The shower is separated from the rest of the compartment with a cylindrical clear plexiglass door that slides in tracks at top and bottom.  This provides a very comfortable bathing experience without clinging shower curtains. The shower and sink drain into a sump (shared with the refrigerator drain) which is pumped overboard.

Looking aft into the head from the main saloon.  There is a storage cabinet above the counter level and a shallow storage cabinet adjacent to the head.  This primarily provides maintenance access to the plumbing.  The y-valve for overboard or holding tank is adjacent to the head. The round black vent adjacent to the head is the heater outlet.  The control for the head heat is the small black panel above the light switches. At the upper left of this picture you can see the corner of the mirror mounted on the aft wall.
Looking straight into the head from the main saloon you can see the sink with its dedicated light.  Under the sink is storage for TP and a few items, also access to plumbing behind.  You can see the aft edge of the shower enclosure at the right of the picture.  The enclosure is formed of clear plexiglass which limits any confined feelings in the head.
Both of these views are from the main saloon looking forward into the shower compartment of the head.  In the lefthand image the enclosure is open.  You can see the access panel that we added to open up storage under the shower seat.  In the righthand image the enclosure is closed.  You can see the upper guide rail at the top of the picture.

We added a clothes rod across the top of the shower stall originally to hang wet raingear in the Pacific Northwest, but it is very handy for towel storage or for anything that needs to hang while drying.
